Current activities

In September 2007 I took over the dance class for beginners from Karin Feneberg. The focus of my programme is dances from the 16th century.

In this class emphasis is also placed on general movement training and posture.

My dancing background

I discovered my passion for historical dance while I was studying musicology at the University of Utrecht. Since then I have dealt in depth with a number of dance styles including Modern Dance.

After earning a diploma in international folk dance I taught primarily in this area. Since then historical dance has also become a focal point of my activities.

My teachers include, amongst others, Lieven Baert, Dorothée Wortelboer and Sigrid T'Hooft.

For the 1st Rothenfels Dance Symposium in 2004 I created my first dance production: East of the Sun, West of the Moon. In this and also in my next production, Still Life in Motion (2007), I brought my particular interest to the fore: the creative interweaving of various dancing styles.
